Mr. Griffin is the English Department Co-Chair. He went to Kalani High School and University of Hawaii where he got his B.A in English. He also attended CSULB where he received his Teacher Credentials. He degreed in English Literature. Mr. Griffin has been working with GGHS since 1989. He enjoys surfing, hiking/backpacking, traveling, and plans to go around the world. He has a loving family; a wife,Corrine, and a son, Keola. |

Ms. Norton graduated from Penn State University in 2003 with a BA in Film/Television Studies and a minor in English. She returned to Southern California where she grew up and received her Masters in Education from UC Irvine. Ms. Norton currently is the JV Girls Soccer Coach and advisor for Girls League. She also teaches English and Film Studies. In her free time Ms. Norton enjoys cheering on the Los Angeles Galaxy, running in 5K's and marathons, and spending time with her family. She hopes to spend her summer traveling to random places all over the world. |

Ms. Kalayjian is from Huntington Beach. She graduated Cum Laude from Cal State Long Beach with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Psychology. She has taught in the Garden Grove Unified School District since 1995. Currently, she is in the Master of Science program at CSULB to earn her degree in Geological Sciences. A large part of her heart belongs to music (she is a classically-trained pianist, playing the piano since age 6); Ms. Kalayjian leads music and song Sundays at her church. She also dabbles in guitar and the autoharp. Besides being a musician and a teacher, in her spare time she enjoys traveling, walking her dog by the beach, hiking and camping with friends, and collecting art or visiting art museums and galleries. |

Ms. Grant graduated from Adelphi University with a B.A. in Education and English. She completed her graduate work at C.W. Post University while teaching English in NY. Ms Grant taught English 9-12, ELD, World History, Yearbook, and Newspaper at GGHS. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, attending concerts, dance performances and theater in NYC and California. |

Ms. Stoner was born and raised in Southern California. She attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for her undergraduate degree majoring in English and a minor in Technical Writing. She received her teaching credential from Cal State Fullerton. Currently, Ms. Stoner enjoys working out, traveling, trying new cuisine, and spending time with friends and family. And, I love being part of the Argo family! |

Miss Ingram graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a double major in Dance and English. At UCI she performed in numerous dance productions and studied along side with the Paris Ballet Company. Miss Ingram has also received a certification in Pilates and trains as a pilates instructor at various studios. She has been dancing and acting for 25 years and has been teaching at Grove for four. |

Linda Bush is from Huntington Beach and attended The University of San Diego where she received a B.A. in English. Later, she earned both her teaching credential and Masters degree in Literature from Chapman University in Orange. She had the unforgettable opportunity to attend a semester abroad in Oxford, England, and encourages all who can to experience studying overseas. When not planning good times with friends, she counts cooking and traveling as her favorite hobbies - hoping to teach again in Leysin, Switzerland, the summer of 2008. |

Mrs. Lazarony received her degree in English at UCI and her teaching credential from CSUF. She did her student teaching in the Garden Grove district and came to GGHS from Santiago High School in 2002. She recently earned her Masters in Education Administration but plans to stay in the classroom because she enjoys working with teens. She has a wonderful husband, two (crazy) children, two dogs, one cat, a pig, a turtle and several goldfish. She has no time for hobbies, but if she did she'd probably go bungee jumping...flinging herself into space with a thin rope attached hoping she'll survive. It's kind of like what she does in the classroom every day. |

Mrs. Alba graduated from Santiago High School in 1996. After high school, she attended Chapman University and UCI. The students she worked with at OC Human Relations and the teachers from Southern Mexico at Cal Poly Pomona inspired her to become a teacher. Mrs. Alba teaches English 1P Honors, and English 2P. Over the summer she took five classes at UCI and worked as a research assistant for a Mexican Art Historian. Her hobbies include music, art, recycling clothes, reading, and writing. Mrs. Alba’s favorite food is Posole, and her favorite actors and actress are Javier Bardem, John Turturro, and Maria Felix. She is married, and has two parents, two sisters, one brother, one nephew and over 100 first cousins. She also has one pet cat named “Chona”. |

Ms. Meteer moved to California in 2003 to work with Garden Grove USD. She attended Penn State and Oakland University, earning a BA in Music. She then earned her teaching credentials and Master of Education (Education Leadership)degree from Marygrove College in Detroit, Michigan. She is currently in the process of earning her PhD in Higher Education at Walden University. Ms. Meteer has three children and enjoys spending time with them, singing, swimming, and watching football. |

Mrs. dos Santos grew up in Iowa, and graduated from Bethel College in 1995 with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Secondary Education, Language Arts. She spent a semester in the UK traveling around and studying British and Irish poets and playwrights on location. From there she worked for a non-profit organization managing a coffee house for high school students. She started teaching in 1997 while obtaining her Master’s Degree from the University of Northern Colorado in Special Education: Teaching the Gifted and Talented. She moved to California in 2004 with her husband and has been teaching at GGHS since 2005. She enjoys going to the beach and the mountains, singing and playing the piano, watching movies, and eating chocolate. |

Mrs. Hathaway grew up in North San Diego County in a city named San Marcos. She moved to Fullerton to pursue a degree in English literature and Theatre. Upon receiving a degree in English and Theatre Arts she decided to start working on her teaching credential at Chapman University. After working as an AVID tutor and then as a substitute she landed a job as an English teacher in Victorville, California. Now, she is happily back in Orange County as a new teacher at Garden Grove High School. Mrs. Hathaway enjoys spending time with her new son Corey, going skiing, reading books (of course, she teaches English), and eating pizza from her husband's restaurant. |

Ms. Cardoza-Starnes earned her degree in English Literature at UCLA after graduating herself from Garden Grove High School. She met and married Mr. Starnes after meeting him here her first year teaching. She has written several teachers' resource books on subjects such as Shakespeare, grammar, and classroom games. She enjoys dinner with friends, vacations to almost anywhere, and long historical novels. |

Mr. Sharp is a graduate of Georgia State University, with a Masters Degree from Chapman University. This is my 20th year teaching; fourth year at Grove, and 18th year in the district. My experience also includes: Drama Sponsor, 2 years high school, 14 yrs. jr. high Soccer Coach: Stone Mountain High School boys Frosh/Soph 2 yrs. Mater Dei High School, 1 yr. boys Frosh/Soph 7 yrs. Girls Varsity Head Coach Santiago High School, 2yrs. girls Varsity Head Coach Grove High School, 1 yr. girls J/V, 2yrs. girls Varsity Head Coach My interests are travel, music , and cooking. |

Ms. Dinh graduated from GGHS. She went to UCI and graduated with a B.A. in English, and then went onto NYU for her Masters in English Education. Her work with at-risk teens at a neighborhood learning center in West Side Costa Mesa inspired her to continue helping students with their education. Ms. Dinh teaches both English and Latin. Her hobbies include playing and listening to music, singing, drawing, painting, snowboarding, and jet skiing. Her favorite colors are blue and green. Ms. Dinh loves spicy cuisines, and her favorite types of food are Vietnamese dishes. She loves to watch The Office, Arrested Development, Grey’s Anatomy, Ugly Betty, and Brothers and Sisters. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are her favorite actor and actress, not only because of their great movies, but also because of their philanthropic view on life. Last summer she visited Cancun with her sister and cousin. Ms. Dinh is still single and loving it! |
