The GGHS Varsity Cheer Squad made history on April 3, 2010 at the annual district-wide competition, bringing home their first First Place title. The team prepared for months, combining JV and Varsity in order to compete against Santiago. Lacee Garcia hoped to win first place and "beat Santiago". Rachel Kang called Santiago the Cheer Squad's biggest competition and winning was a sigh of relief. The title is their first award in the history of GGHS.
