Answered by Michelle Hour How long were you president of this club? My President term last from April 2009 to April 2010. It begins and ends when District Convention occurs. Each term is from April to April. How many members are in this club? There are approximately 98 members in our club. What are your club goals? Our club goals are to excel in the Key Club core values: leadership, character building, caring, and inclusiveness. By having students be involved, we can make the world a better place one step at a time. Our most recent project was Project GO, which is a graffiti paint-out event. It was held on Saturday, May 8. Depending on when projects are held, we mainly meet on Saturdays. Some projects could be on Friday or Sunday. Every week, we have a tutoring event at H.O.P.E. (located on historical Main Street) on Tuesdays. For weekend projects, we meet at the public library. The best part about being is the club is the fact that we're not only making a difference by taking time out of our lives to do some community service, but it also gives everyone an opportunity to make new friends, build leadership, and develop communication skills. Having been in this club for four years, all I can say is that this club has given so much to me - life lessons that I will always remember. Serving the community is one step closer to a better place - one that can eventually get everyone involved into "saving the world," as Steven Chau would say. I love Key Club for its ability to bring everyone together to take initiative to make a difference. Oh, and the spirit is AWESOME as well ;) Students should join Key Club because the things you'll gain out of this club are incredible. Students could easily sleep in on a Saturday morning and watch TV all day, or go on the internet. However, joining a club like Key Club allows you to build your character and be active - doing something for a great cause. Not only do we have community service events, but we have awesome and SPIRITED events such as Fall Rally South (at Six Flags Magic Mountain) and District Convention. Key Club is definitely a club to get into if you're looking for weekly community service, new friends, and crazy people to show off your spirit with.
