What sport do you play?

Badminton: Mixed Double with Tam Nguyen, Doubles with Christina Sumariyanto.

 What motivated you to play this sport?

 I am motivated because of my teammates; they all try and work so hard.  We are as close as a family, and we all support each other during our games.  During tournaments, we are always the loudest team.

How do you usually feel when you are playing a game/ match?

I feel proud and confident, but also a little nervous.

Who is your role model in your life?

My role model is my grandma.  She is a widow with nine kids, and she worked hard to bring them up.

What do you do for fun?

I like to watch basketball (Go Lakers!) and tennis for fun.  Or else I like to use youtube for new songs.

Describe a typical practice day.

A typical day would be: stretch, footwork, serving, warm up your shots, drills, and then games.

What is your favorite song?

My favorite song changes constantly, but the recent one is “You and I Both” by Jason Mraz

When was the first time you played your sport?

I first played badminton with my cousins when I was in 8^th grade.

Out of everything, what is one accomplishment that you are most proud of?

I am most proud of winning League Champion with my partner Tam and also of winning a humongous Yonex badminton bag at the Cypress Tournament with him.

If you could have 2 superpowers, what would it be? Why?

First I want the power to stop time because I feel that people can accomplish anything they want to, but the one thing that prevents them from accomplishing these goals is time.  So, if I can stop time, then I can accomplish anything!!  Also, procrastinating would not be so pressuring.The second power I want is the power to willingly turn anything into food.  I won’t have to learn to cook, and I would be able to eat anything I want at anytime.

If you are alone in a desert what are your thoughts? Specifically what will be your first thought?

I would be trying to remember the movies I’ve seen to see what the characters do in this situation.  My first thought will be about food.

What would you do if you have a time machine?

I would go back to the Renaissance Period

What does the word "success" mean to you? "Failure?"

Success means performing my best.  Even if I lose, I know that I have tried my best.  Failure means failing to perform my best.  There’s nothing worse than knowing that you can win but failing to do so

What does teamwork mean to you?

Teamwork means everybody being there for each other, everybody forgives each other, everybody wins and loses together.
