Career and Technical Education
Career and Technical Education, or CTE, helps students apply academic skills to real-world industry sectors while developing technical skills and exploring future college and career paths. Career Education promotes the district’s strategic plan of equipping all students for lifelong success. At Garden Grove High School, students may choose from the following Career Pathways:
- Computer Science
- Design, Visual, and Media Arts
- Criminal Justice
- Culinary Arts
- Mental and Behavioral Health
- Medical Patient Care
Students in CTE programs can earn industry certifications and early college credits, and are able to participate in student leader-ship, clubs, competitions, and a summer internship between 11th and 12th grade.

College Credit Courses
Early college credit is available to students at Garden Grove High School! High school students can get a jump start on post-secondary success by earning college credit through CTE courses at their home high schools through multiple methods: articulation agreements, concurrent enrollment, and dual credit options.
Dual credit courses actively earn both high school graduation credit as well as college credit at the same time. Concurrent enrollment involves students individually registering for college classes outside their school day and requires permissions from parents and school guidance or administrative staff. Garden Grove HS students may take college course work for credit at no cost, and college courses on our high school campus are closed to outside adult students.
Culinary and Restaurant Management/Baking and Pastry is offered through Santa Ana College. Students are able to earn 5 CSU transferable college units for CULN120 and CULN140. The teacher is Chef Carlos Fregoso, who serves as both the college professor and GGHS teacher of record.
