Due:

4/10 IWA Outline in Google Classroom

4/10 IWA Outline

Choose the slides or the docs, not both.

You do not need to fill out every section exactly as written—adjust it to fit your research approach.
Use bullet points to organize your ideas efficiently.
Focus on key points rather than writing full sentences at this stage.
Include evidence and citations for each perspective/stakeholder you analyze.
Skip or modify sections that don’t apply to your research.
Purpose: This outline is meant to help you organize your thoughts, but you can structure your paper differently if it makes more sense for your research. The goal is to create a clear plan that makes writing your IWA easier.

Due:

4/7 PT2 Annotated Bibliography in Google Classroom

4/7 PT2 Annotated Bibliography

Please read the directions carefully. You may reference the entries you did in the fall for the two education sources, the fill-in-the-blank example, the red packet of academic language phrases, as well as your credibility statement practice. Remember the goal is to put sources IN CONVERSATION. Formatting is important too.

Pace yourself to put two sources in conversation per day. I’ve planned for three days for you, so that you can finish six by the end of Wednesday.

A note about credibility statements: If it is a peer-reviewed article, you do not need to explain its credibility. The reader would know by looking at your Works Cited. However, if the credibility is not traditionally present, you must justify it by writing a credibility statement.

Please reach out with any questions!

Due:

1/19 Affinity Mapping in Google Classroom

1/19 Affinity Mapping

Purpose: organize your research to find solutions, resolutions, or conclusions

Objective: use your individual knowledge of the topic to help form the group argument for the TMP

Step 1:
One team member creates a new Padlet set to "Canvas" mode so that your posts can move like stickies. Share it to all team members and attach it to this assignment.
The title of your Padlet should be your RQ.
Make a copy of the slide deck and attach it to this assignment.
Step 2:
Each team member will use a single post per source to communicate the following info: source, main idea, proposed solution/conclusion. Use bullet points or simple phrases to communicate.
SCREENSHOT AND ADD TO THE SLIDE DECK
Step 3:
As a team, you are charged with categorizing the sources into small groups in a logical fashion based on either the main idea or proposed solution/conclusions. Once all sources are placed into categories, the group should attempt to identify and label each group.
You may want to have placeholder posts and categories for missing information or topics needing further research.
SCREENSHOT AND ADD TO THE SLIDE DECK
Step 4:
Based on the categories created by the group there might be one or two categories which have more stickies than others. The largest or two largest groups should help start a conversation regarding the best solution or conclusion which will serve as the basis of the TMP; the smaller groups could serve as the other solutions to be discussed in the presentation.
At this point, you probably have some sort of outline.

The Individual Research Report
Individually, students investigate their assigned approach, perspectives, or lens on the issue or topic of the team research question. Each student presents his or her findings and analysis to the group in a well-written individual report that:
identifies the area of investigation and its relationship to the overall problem or issue;
summarizes, explains, analyzes, and evaluates the main ideas and reasoning in the chosen sources;
identifies, compares, and interprets a range of perspectives about the problem or issue; and
cites all sources used and includes a list of works cited or bibliography.
Students must avoid plagiarism by acknowledging, attributing, and/or citing sources throughout the paper and including a bibliography or works cited (see the AP Capstone Policy on Plagiarism and Falsification or Fabrication of Information).

Note: Students and teachers should check work for plagiarism prior to final submission.

If you are opting to do the rewrite, please attach it to this assignment post. You have one week. :) If you need more time (like over the break, please let me know! I'd be happy to grant you an extension.)

Clarifications re: Rewrite
Each student can choose any paragraph from their team paper to rewrite. It does not have to be a paragraph that you originally wrote.
It is optional for each student, meaning that not every team member needs to agree to do the rewrite. Whoever wants to do it, can. If you don't want to do it, that's okay, too!
You are revising it individually, not as a group. No more group writing - yay!
