ArgoLog Student Newspapers

These ArgoLog Student Newspapers from Garden Grove High School (GGHS) have been digitized through the efforts of GGHS Teacher Joon Kim and his students.  This effort was carried out over a period of two school years and was completed in the fall of 2022.  They were obtained by scanning original copies of ArgoLog Student newspapers stored on campus in the GGHS Alumni Office. While the ArgoLog was first published in 1928-29, not all editions are available.  Nevertheless, approximately 775 separate editions have been scanned, dating back to the 1932-33 school year.  Along with school yearbooks and class scrapbooks, they document as much as any source the history of GGHS.
The ArgoLog Student Newspapers are sorted by the school year they were published.  The individual editions are stored in .pdf documents named by "ag", year (xxxx), month (xx), day (xx), volume number (xx), and edition number (xx) as follows:

ag_year_mo_dy_vl_no_

There are some skipped or incorrectly numbered volumes and issue numbers on the original documents.  In more cases the corrected volume and edition numbers are provided in the digitized file name, despite what is indicated on the actual ArgoLog.  Because of this, the date provided in the filename should be considered the most accurate information.

While this collection is considerable, our ultimate goal is to obtain a complete collection of all ArgoLogs published since its inception.  Therefore we are always seeking out copies of past issues in the hope that missing issues are added to the collection.

The individual issues of the ArgoLog can be accessed by clicking on the school year below.  While individual editions are missing from various years, there are several complete years that are missing.  You will see those missing years in red.
